I Dream of Chicago Pizza
I dream of Chicago pizza
My love affair with pizza began later in life than most peoples. I didn’t like pizza until I was in high school…literally. I hated tomatoes so I equated that dislike to pizza. MY first foray into pizza was another brand. I know, I know let the floggings begin…I didn't know better. I took a liking to it because our delivery driver couldn’t make the 30 minute time limit and we got our pizza free more times than not. Dad always said, “Free pizza was the great equalizer.” Nowadays I disagree. I will go great lengths to have an awesome, mouth-watering piece of Chicago style pizza.
Having lived in Chicago and tasted all of the fantastic options Chicago folks have, I have become a pizza snob. My wife and I frequently correct restaurants that claim to have Chicago style pizza, and they clearly don’t. Our friends routinely opt to not go out for pizza with us.
Seriously, you cant claim Chicago style pizza if its not authentic Chicago style pizza. Home Run Inn Pizza is just that. They claim it and then back it up with mouthwatering Chicago pizza nobody can touch. Yeah, there is good pizza out there, but not Home Run Inn good. They have 8 locations around the Chicago area, you can order their frozen pizzas to be delivered, and their pizza clubs give you the chance to save money and even earn free pizza. Remember what my father said, “Free is the great equalizer.” Well he wasn’t exactly correct but free pizza is still pretty awesome.
Winter Activities in Chicago and Pizza! No doubt about it, winter is here. But just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean there aren’t still lots of fun things to do in Chicagoland to keep active and keep warm. Here are just a few we picked out but there are countless more. There’s always lots going on at the Chicago Children's Museum at Navy Pier, including the popular Snow Much Fun exhibit through February 5th where you can build a snow fort, throw snowballs, dress up a snowman and ice skate...all inside. Head there on the first Sunday of the month or on a Thursday evening and enjoy free admission! Looking for something to get your heart racing? Try out the Melrose Park Indoor Grandprix for some indoor high-speed kart racing with over 150,000 square feet of space and two tracks. Then fill up your belly with Chicago’s best pizza at our Melrose Park location just down the road on North Avenue. Bundle up and head to The Morton Arboretum in Lisle for some winter exercise.
