Our purpose at Home Run Inn to build meaningful relationships to earn a smile from our guest, trust from our teammates & love from communities we serve.

Our History

Above all, Home Run Inn is a proud, family-owned business—one with deep roots in the city of Chicago. In 1923, the original Home Run Inn location opened as a small tavern on Chicago’s South Side. Founded by Mary and Vincent Grittani, the tavern received its name one fateful day when a baseball from the neighborhood park smashed through one of the tavern’s windows, a home run for some young slugger on the sandlot. In 1947, after that baseball made history, Mary and her son-in-law, Nick Perrino, crafted the iconic Chicago pizza recipe known today.

Our Pizza

Home Run Inn pizzas are made from our original family recipe created in 1947 by Mary Grittani and Nick Perrino. We take great pride in serving the highest quality products to our customers. Home Run Inn pizzas are made with all-natural ingredients. We never compromise our quality with preservatives.

HRI Giving Back

Your support allows us to fund access to basic food for starving children throughout the world as well as educate underprivileged children in the United States about healthy eating habits.
